2014 Lisbon All School Reunion

June 29th - July 6th, 2014

Dear Lisbon Alumni of the David Anderson High School,

Can you believe that it has been 6 years since our last All-School Reunion? It was a huge success. We have planned our next all-school reunion for this summer June 29-July 6, 2014. We would love to have you join us! “Come Home-Gather with Friends.” The events listed are tentatively scheduled for a reunion week of fun.

More information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized on ALL Events:

Our week will begin with a GOLF OUTING to be held at Valley Golf Club near Columbiana on Sunday June 29. Randy Crothers is in charge of this event. You may contactl Randy at 424-5820 with questions. Costs: $35 or $140/foursome, includes cart and food. Tee time is 9:30AM. Plan for your favorite foursome now!

Windows in the downtown will be decorated with memorabilia from many classes. Please take time to tour the downtown area and visit these well planned class displays. If your class is looking to do a window, there are only 9 lleft. please contact Diane (Lederle) Dull, (330) 424-7367or Cindy (Serago) Chestnut (330) 427-2519 to reserve one. Windows are to be completed by June 28.

The celebrations will continue with two performances of the Lisbon Minstrel Show Wednesday July 2nd and Thursday July 3rd at the high school at 8PM.

Before each performance, there will be an optional catered dinner in the high school cafeteria offered from 5:30 to 7:30PM. These are reserved dinners. So come early, have dinner with old friends and enjoy the popular show! Tom McKenna, Director has stated profits from these performances and dinner will be donated to the Lisbon Alumni Scholarship funds. Please plan to support LAA student scholarships by attending this evening of family fun and entertainment. Tickets for the dinner are $15, the Ministrel tickets are $8 and $10 for reserved. Pre-Paid Tickets can be held at the H.S. boxoffice for the dinner and show. Send checks to the LAA, P.O. Box 421, Lisbon, OH. Tickets may be purchased at Morgan's Drug Store, Gray Kodrich Supply, the Lisbon Chamber Office or by mail at P.O. Box 421. The show tickets will be available at the door, if the performance is not sold out. Dinner is by reservation only.

On July 4th the Class of 1963 is hosting a picnic at 2:00 PM at "The Barn" located west of Salem, off SR 62, 15210 W. Pine Lake Road, Salem, OH. While no cost, A Reservation for this event must be made with Dick Zitto or Gloria Matthews by July 1. Bring your own covered dish, BYOB, all else will be provided including table service and nonalcoholic beverages. The oldies group "Package Deal" with Larry White and Roger Lowery will play for the picnic. The Class says ALL classes are welcome—but they especially are looking forward to seeing those from the 60’s! The LAA Parade will move out at 11 AM Saturday July 5 from the McKinley Elementary School. The parade forms at 10AM at the McKinley Elementary School. We are asking all classes to enter a float, classic car or walk as a group. The form needed to enter the parade can be downloaded from this website link below. The Chamber of Commerce is in charge of the parade and will offer prizes for the “Best of…”.

An Alumni Band is also being formed to perform for the parade. Dust off your flute, trumpet, or drum and call Dawn Deyber Thomas (330) 424-1400 to sign up. Majorettes want to twirl again? Sign up. Jodine Pilmer, Class of 65 will be directing the band. Practice your traditional fight songs. ALL CURRENT and recent Senior grads of DAHS, band….please join the Alumni folks in the Parade.


After the parade, reunion visitors can view the window displays.

The Lisbon Historical Society will have BOTH the Old Stone House and the Train Station open for your to view the history of Lisbon, Stop in to see how both these museums have changed. We have lots to be pride of in Lisbon history.

An Antique Car Show will be held in the Courthouse Parking Lot from 12-3PM sponsored by the Class of "52" complete with tunes from the 50's. Trophies for Participant Choice and Best of Show will be awarded. Forms on the show follow below. DASH PLATES for first 50 cars, others beyond first 50 register, and they will be sent to you. Grab a lunch at the many alumni-owned restaurants in and near Lisbon. Chef’s Table, Foxes, Loch 24, Mark’s Landing, Pondi’s, Steel Trolley, and Sweet Jane’s will all be open to serve you, your family and friends.

Our All School Reunion will be held from 6 PM to midnight July 5 at the north end of the Columbiana County Fairgrounds. The ONLY entrance will be from the new Vista Drive access off of North Market St. The new “Rabbit and Poultry” building will house tables and chairs. The tents for classes will be set up around this section. This event is a get-together (BYOB) to see all those folks you haven’t seen in years. There is a $10 per person fee to cover the rental costs of chairs, tables, and hospitality tents which will be hosted by the classes. Any proceeds left after payment of expenses will be used for the next all-school reunion.

Much as we would love to have a sit-down dinner, there are no accommodations large enough in Lisbon. You can bring your own food and drink to the fairgrounds; however Smokey Marty’s BBQ will be open at their food stand on the grounds offering wonderful pulled pork sandwiches, nachos and pop. Bob Stark will offer Flavor Dipped chicken, wraps, funnel cakes, and coffee, iced tea and water. We will offer also offer traditional fries and lemon shakes by C and M Concessions.

Dress will be casual but prepare to have fun. Dan Bing, the Village Mayor will be the DJ for the evening providing dance music for all ages. He will be happy to play requests for your dance down memory lane.

The reunion will wrap up on Sunday, July 6, with a Picnic at 1PM at the Lisbon Pool. The pool will be open with free admission provided by the Village Council. Hot dogs, hamburgers and lemonade will be provided. Please bring a casserole, dessert, or chips to share. Bring a racket, basketball or baseball to enjoy some healthy fun. Take a walk of the Greenway Trail just over the hill. The picnic pavilion will be open- so bring a lawn chair and plan for a nice visit with old friends and family. “Come Home- Gather with Friends.”

We will be meeting on June 25 and July 1 at Community Room at Stadium. If you are willing to help at registration table, parking cars, or entrance areas. Please sign up. Call 424-7651 or come to the meeting. The LAA could use a few worker bees. Thank you.

We look forward to seeing you. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help with the planning, the LAA will meet June 4 in the Lisbon Community Room at the Stadium to complete all tasks. We can use extra hands at registration and decoration. Please join us.

Lisbon Community Minstrel Chorus held at the DAHS auditorium. Come hear your favorite songs and some great jokes! You won't want to miss this event! Under the direction of Thomas McKenna! Tickets are $8 and $10, reserved.
Prior to the show: 5:30-7:30 - Have a Catered Dinner $15/meal in the HS Cafeteria.

July 5th - Grand Parade
All classes join in the fun! Parade will gather at MCKINLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at 10:00 a.m. The Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the parade for the alumni. Lori Sweeney is the parade chairman. All classes are encouraged to participate! have a float or a car or just walk as a group. Have your class represented!!! Prizes provided by the Lisbon Chamber parade will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Window Displays by various classes.

Lisbon Historical Society, the Old Stone House and Train Station will be open for viewing.

LAA Souveniers and TShirts for reunion are available on the Square in Gazbo, by Lisa Dawson of Tiny Tots Deport from 10am to 3pm, and at Fairgrounds in the evening.

All School Reunion
